The Nissan GT-R NISMO Inches Ever Closer to $200K
With each passing year, the Nissan GT-R has gotten a bit better, and the same has been true with the NISMO version. The 2017 model year is no exception to this trend, as the GT-R and its wilder NISMO sibling received a handful of small improvements. With these update, we expected somewhat of a price hike, but we never expected one as large as it was.
The 2017 GT-R NISMO will check in at a healthy $174,990. For those recalling back to last year, that is a whopping $25,000 increase – enough for a well-equipped “normal” car. Of course, this is no “normal” car, as the GT-R NISMO has a snarling 3.8-liter V-6 that pounds out 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque. This power routes through a six-speed sequential gearbox and out to all four wheels for a breakneck launch.
As for the upgrades in the new model year, they are subtle but noticeable. They include a completely redone interior with additional sound deadening, more premium materials, 16 fewer switches and an 8-inch touchscreen, and a revamped exterior that includes a larger V-Motion grille, and a reinforced hood for additional stiffness in the corners.
