The McLaren 570S Gets a New Design Edition

What’s better than a wild supercar like the McLaren 570S? Well, one that has a look rarely seen on the streets, of course. And that’s precisely what McLaren is offering buyers with the new 570S Design Edition.

McLaren will limit the 570S Design Edition to only five styles, each carrying a price premium of only $10,320. Each of these versions will have an exclusive design that is chosen by its individual McLaren designer.

While the automaker didn’t get too deep into the details of all five versions, it did highlight the Design Edition 1 model. This version will come coated in a Vermillion Red with five-spoke, diamond-cut-finish wheels, a stealth exhaust, and red brake calipers on the outside. The other Design Edition models will be available with their own exterior colors: Vermillion Red, Storm Grey, Ventura Orange, and Silica White

Inside, the Design Edition 1 model will boast Carbon Black Alcantara and Apex Red Nappa leather seats, a Jet Black Nappa leather upper fascia, an Apex Red Nappa leather lower fascia, Slate Grey contrast stitching, a dual-color-coordinated steering wheel, and a McLaren-branded leather sill finisher.

Prior to the debut of the Design Edition, these options were all available only on an individual basis. McLaren says that building the 570S with these options would be “significantly” higher than the $10,320 package price.

McLaren hasn’t announced how many of each Design Edition it’ll build, but it does expect to start delivering them in 2017.
