The time is finally near, folks. The Tesla Model X is just about ready for production, as the EV builder has started allowing folks who preordered the Signature Series version of the Model X to start customizing their rigs. Along with this news comes a slew of new information about the new SUV from buyers who have already setup their vehicles.

The big news is that the Signature Series version of the Model X will run an eye-watering $132,000 before federal tax credits. For this massive stack of cash, buyers get a 90 kWh battery with an EPA-estimated range of 240 miles on a single charge, unlimited access to Tesla’s supercharger system (so long as you don’t get a nastygram from Tesla asking you to stop charging daily at your local station), Autopilot, air suspension, satellite radio, ventilated leather seats, a flat-folding third-row seat, and sensors to prevent damage to the falcon doors in various garages.

In its normal setup, the Model X Signature Series launches to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 155 mph. For an extra $10,000, buyers can unlock Ludicrous mode, which drops that sprint time to an outlandish 3.2 seconds. This mode also reduces the Model X’s quarter-mile time to just 11.7 ticks.

Initial production of the Model X will be somewhere between 50,000 and 55,000 units. Available colors will include Signature Red, Deep Blue, and Titanium.

The report from Automotive News indicates that the Model X Signature Series is slated to start hitting buyers’ garages in late September.

More details and official specifications for the entire Model X lineup should start rolling out very soon. We’ll bring you all of the details as they become available.
