Savvy spy photographers everywhere are likely crying their eyes out after having their fun spoiled by an automaker. That’s right, Rolls Royce decided to release spy shots of its own Project Cullinan test mule before the spy shooters could even get their memory cards formatted.

This mule is a test bed for Rolls Royce’s upcoming all-wheel-drive system that will underpin its soon-to-be-revealed SUV. The chopped up Roller sitting atop this platform is the single-most awesome Phantom Series II I’ve ever seen. Not only is this body a ton shorter than the actual Phantom, but it also has a badass spoiler just hanging out on the trunk-lid and mass amounts of suspension travel. Clearly, Rolls Royce isn’t a fan of being inconspicuous.

Obviously, if there were a Rolls Royce in Mad Max, it would look something like this. With that said, I must break the news that the British automaker made it clear that this mule bears no resemblance to the actual production vehicle. Party poopers.

Instead, Rolls will task this mule with testing out its new all-wheel-drive system and the suspension that accompanies it. The goal is to deliver competent off-road abilities with the brand’s “magic carpet” ride. This mule will see countless miles of cobblestones, corrugated concrete, potholes, and other road defects, which obviously means it will be testing in Pennsylvania.

Well, not really. Rolls Royce will take the mule to various test facilities to see how the suspension and all-wheel-drive system reacts to these conditions.

This is all the news that Rolls Royce passed on for now. All that’s left to do is flood its offices with requests to build this mule! Oh, the fun we could have.
