Toyota has promised to hybridize all of its volume-selling vehicles by 2020, and for 2016, it can check another one of those model off its list. The 2016 model year will mark the debut of the RAV4 Hybrid, and Toyota will show the model of at the 2015 New York Auto Show on April 2nd.

Toyota hasn’t revealed any details about the RAV4 Hybrid, but it did release a single teaser image. This image shows that the RAV4 Hybrid will retain most of the same looks as 2015 model, but there are a few differences. First, the taillights look as if Toyota slightly revised then and added in LED technology. Additionally, it looks as if the rear bumper has a new look too.

Since Toyota made these changes on the rear end, I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar modifications up front. So, look for a lightly revised front bumper – likely for slicker aerodynamics – and updated headlights.

Toyota didn’t mention anything about the RAV4 Hybrid’s powertrain, but one look at its sister brand, Lexus, and it is easy to figure out. Under the hood of the Lexus NX 300h sits a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 154 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a 141-horsepower electric motor to power the front wheels and a 67-horsepower engine to power the rear wheels (all-wheel-drive models only). This all adds up to a total output of 194 horsepower and fuel economy numbers if up to 33 mpg combined.

Chances are that the NX 300h’s hybrid setup will transfer directly over to the RAV4 Hybrid, but don’t be too shocked if Toyota slightly detunes it to protect its luxury brand.

We’ll learn more during the RAV4’s debut on April 2nd, and we’ll bring you all of the details once Toyota releases them.
