Ram 3500 Tops Everyone For Torque And Towing
In case you need to tow a mining operation’s earth mover or a gigantic luxury yacht, know the 2018 Ram 3500 is your best bet. In the ever-escalating heavy-duty truck wars, Ram has fired the latest shot. It just revealed the new Ram 3500 boasts 930 lb.-ft. of torque, when equipped with the 6.7-liter Cummins engine. That’s better than any other production truck ever.
Mind you, the competition isn’t too far behind. After all, the GM heavy-duty twins can both pump out 910 lb.-ft. of torque. The latest Ford Super Duty can put out 925 lb.-ft. of torque with a 6.7-liter turbodiesel.
Still, Ram can claim the best fifth-wheel towing capability. The new 3500 can pull 30,000 pounds, for those who need a particularly hard-working truck. That opens up possibilities you could only get with a Class 4 or 5 truck, so in all honesty that can save people money.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on the new Ram 3500, there’s good news: the first ones are rolling off the production line within a week.
