Nissan Shows Off a Snow-Prepped Armada

Smaller automotive exhibitions like the Chicago Auto Show are havens for oddball reveals like customized cars and trucks that may or may not make it to production. This year will clearly be no exception, as Nissan has announced a snow-prepped version of the Armada will debut inn Chitown.

Meet the Armada Snow Patrol.

To craft this big, blue beast, Nissan took a standard 2018 Armada and slapped a Pro Comp lift kit to increase the ride height by 3 inches, which gives it the clearance needed for the 35-inch Pro Comp MT2 tires. These slabs of rubber hug a set of 20-by-9-inch Cognito Series 61 wheels coated in satin black.

Nissan continued to beef up this SUV with ai Smittybilt off-road bumper with grille protector bar and a 12,000-pound capacity winch mount. Illuminating the path ahead is a double-row LED light bar and a set of grille-mounter 5-inch LED lights. And keeping the Armada safe from flying debris are M-1A running boards and rock sliders.

Inside, things are taken up a notch in the luxury department, as Nissan added premium leather on the front seats with pearl color surfaces and cement color perforated inserts, cobalt color wings, and contrasting cobalt stitching. There are also Snow Patrol logos on the seatbacks.

As a specially built concept just for the Chicago Auto Show, it’s unlikely we’ll see this in production, but you never know what tricks automakers may have up their sleeves.
