The McLaren 675LT Spider (“LT” standing for “Long Tail”) is awesome enough as is, thanks to its sinister 666 horsepower, sharp looks, and limited production. McLaren Special Operations, however, felt it needed a little something to make it even better. So, the British supercar manufacture’s customization arm decided to slather it in naked carbon fiber and name it the MSO Carbon Series LT.

This limited-run rig has 40 percent of its body panels crafted from the lightweight, rigid material. The new carbon-fiber bits include the front bumper, splitter, end plates, front under-body panel, side skirts, side intakes, lower side intakes, rear fenders, rear deck, rear bumper, diffuser, and “Long Tail” airbrake. To make things even cooler, MSO coated the new carbon fiber in a clear gloss, so that the natural weave of the material shines through. MSO also added new GT3-inspired functional louvers to the front fenders and the McLaren Telemetry pack with three track cameras.

Oddly enough, MSO doesn’t mention whether this added carbon fiber reduces the 675LT’s curb weight, but I think it is safe to assume there is at least some weight loss.

Like the car it’s based on, the MSO Carbon Series LT features McLaren’s widely used 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 that cranks out 666 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This powerplant allows the 675LT Spider to hit 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and top out at 203 mph. There is no mention of whether this special edition is any quicker due to its assumed lighter bod.

If you have dreams of owning this carbon-fiber beast, then you’d better act fast because MSO is limiting production to just 25 units. Deliveries will begin near the end of 2016.
