Mother Lode Of Jeep Wrangler Info Leaks

Someone just leaked the entire owner’s manual and user guide for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL on the JL Wrangler Forum. It gives the most complete picture you’re going to get for the off-roader before it debuts in December.

Of course, there is the risk that the documents aren’t real. They certainly look authentic, but that hasn’t always been a guarantee that info is legit.

Among the highlights is a new power sliding roof, called the Power Top. You can’t remove it, so diehard Jeepers likely will pass. What it can do is open and close at up to 60 mph.

We now know the two-door JL can tow up to 2,000 pounds, with the turbo 2.0-liter engine. On four-door models, that increases to 3,500 pounds. Oddly, towing capacities with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 are the same. The dreaded stop-start tech comes included.

The Wrangler will get the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system as an option. A rearview camera and parking sensors are also available.

You can add a Trail Rail to the Wrangler JL. It places two rails in the floor on either side of the cargo area. An included organizer bar inserts into slides on the other bars, so you can slide it back and forth to change where the barrier sits.

Overall, the new Wrangler looks more upscale than the JK. That’s going to make it controversial for some, while others will think it’s a big upgrade. Among the option amenities are heated seats and a heated steering wheel. So much for the days of freezing during the winter.

There’s far more information in the leaked documents.
