Earlier this year, Mazda revealed a little bit of information on the Mazda3. In this release, it showed off the restyled front and rear ends, and the new G-Vectoring Control. Today, the small Mazda gets even more info revealed, including its updated pricing and trim levels.

Inside, buyers will quickly notice that the cabin is quieter than before. This is thanks to additional sound-deadening material that Mazda has added for the new model year. This insulation will pair nicely with what the Japanese automaker is calling a “redesigned, upscale interior.” Sadly, Mazda didn’t reveal any images or details on the new interior, so there is nothing to pass on – I have reached out to Mazda for clarification.

Also new are the trim levels. Gone are the “s” and “i” versions of each trim to distinguish models with the base 2.0-liter and the more potent 2.5-liter engine. Instead, Mazda will equip the base Sport trim and the Touring trim with the 155-horsepower 2.0-liter engine, and it’ll install the 184-horsepower 2.5-liter in the Touring 2.5 and Grand Touring trims. Both engines and all four trim levels are available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed auto transmission.

What’s more, on the Grand Touring models with the manual gearbox, buyers can now add the optional Premium Package ($1,600) and i-ACTIVSENSE ($1,100) safety package, which were previously only available with the auto transmission – i-ELOOP ($800) remains only available with the auto transmission. On the base Sport trim, there is now an electronic parking brake.

Also revealed are the pricing details. The 2016 Mazda3 Sport 6MT starts out at $17,845 in the sedan format and $19,095 as a hatchback. These prices represent a carryover for the sedan and a $550 increase for the hatchback. The remaining pricing details are as follows:

  • Sport 6AT Sedan $18,895
  • Sport 6AT Hatchback $20,145
  • Touring 6MT Sedan $20,445
  • Touring 6AT Sedan $21,495
  • Touring 6AT Hatchback $22,245
  • Touring 2.5 Hatchback 6MT $22,395
  • Touring 2.5 Hatchback 6AT $23,445
  • Grand Touring 6MT Sedan $23,145
  • Grand Touring 6MT Hatchback $23,895
  • Grand Touring 6AT Sedan $24,195
  • Grand Touring 6AT Hatchback $24,945
