Mercedes can be quite the tease, as is evident in the few glimpses everyone has caught of the upcoming S-Class Cabriolet. The company’s latest photo of the convertible luxury car provides a limited view of the exterior, while giving us a good feel for the interior.

The Germans are also obviously waxing nostalgic, because in the background of the picture is the S-Class Cabriolet’s source of design inspiration. In an official press release, Mercedes goes on about its history of making luxury cabriolets for quite some time, listing off a number of specific models. In other words, the newest member of the S-Class family comes from a proud heritage of topless Mercedes.

A certain reputation is attached to the S-Class line, so there is a high bar of achievement that the new convertible must reach or exceed. It already sounds like the car will be incredibly luxurious and technologically advanced, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. For example, the tonneau cover will house a pair of Burmester speakers, supplying rich audio quality.

Everyone will love the S-Class Cabriolet so much they won’t want to stop driving it when the weather turns cold, or stop putting the top down. Of course, such an addiction will be facilitated by the AirScarf heaters embedded in the front seats, plus heated armrests.

For now, there aren’t too many official details about the S-Class Cabriolet. Considering that its siblings can be outfitted with some pretty crazy features (scent-control system, anyone?) the new convertible model should be about the nicest way to get around with the wind flowing through your hair. It will also likely be loaded with the latest in vehicle technologies, making it the perfect plaything of the rich and famous.

The entire vehicle will be on display soon enough in Frankfurt, but for now we’ll all have to make view with the above tease.
