Mercedes Adds the OrangeArt Edition to its CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake Lineup
The CLA 45 AMG is one of the baddest compact cars on the market today. With 355 horses, 221 pound-feet of torque, a 4.7-second 0-to-60 time and looks to kill, it is one of my dream cars. Then Mercedes went and released the shooting brake model, which adds some cargo room in the rear, and made me wish I lived in Europe — the CLA 45 AMG is only available in Europe for now. Now, just days after breaking my heart with the Euro-only shooting brake, Mercedes has revealed a special-edition CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake dubbed the OrangeArt edition.
On the outside, Mercedes draps the OrangeArt Edition CLA with a matte-Graphite Grey hue that helps highlight the sporty lines of the model. Bringing some life to the grey color are splashes of orange on the grille surround, the side-view mirrors, the rear apron, and the wheel lips. I’ve never thought that grey and orange would go together this well, but somehow Mercedes pulled it off.
Inside the theme continues, as the black sport seats feature orange contrast stitching and a pair of orange stripes in their center inserts. the orange stitching continues on the shoulder-line of the door panels and across the top of the dash, while the carbon-fiber dashboard insert also has an orange line to tie everything together. Orange contrast stitching is also present on the center console, while an orange center marker on the top of the flat-bottomed steering wheel wraps up the cabin modifications.
Under the hood, the CLA 45 AMG remains unchanged with its 2.0-liter, turbocharged engine pounding out 355 ponies and 332 pound-feet of twist.
As with all CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brakes, we’ll have to admire this one from a distance, as Mercedes mentions no plans of releasing the OrangeArt Edition in the U.S.
