BMW has unleashed a new version of the already badass 4 Series Coupe. Meet the 435i ZHP Coupe, which pays homage to the E46 3 Series with the ZHP package and other bits that made it a sliver of German awesomeness in the early-2000s. This time around, the ZHP package adds even more wallop with a special body kit, a power boost, and enough M Performance bits to make you think twice about buing the M4.

The first order of business for Bimmer was to install the Track Handling Package, which swaps out the standard brakes for four-piston fixed front calipers and two-piston fixed rear caliper. This package also adds in the Adaptive M Suspension with variable damper technology and Variable Sport Steering. Finally, we have the 18-inch Orbit Grey V-Spoke wheels on the corners.

Adhesion to the road is key, and wide rims with gooey rubber can only do so much. This is where the M Performance Limited Slip Differential swoops in with the assist. This diff uses a trio of clutch plates for 30 percent lockup on acceleration and 9 percent on deceleration. This allows the torque to find its way to the wheel with the greatest traction quickly and launch you out of tight turns like a pro. This diff also helps in initial launch and in slippery conditions by giving both wheels equal torque.

With the suspension in check, Bimmer turned to the aerodynamics with the M Performance Aerodynamics Package. This adds in a carbon-fiber front splitter and rear spoiler, and a PUR-RIM M Performance rear diffuser. M Performance Kidney Grilles and M Performance decals complement the aero package nicely.

With the 435i ZHP Coupe set to handle the track in the chassis and aero departments, it is now primed for more power. BMW happily obliges by installing its M Performance Engine Kit, which includes engine tuning software and an M Performance air intake kit. This boosts output by 35 horsepower and up to 32 pound-feet of twist. This gives the 4er a grand total of 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque to play with, given you have the auto transmission. The manual-equipped model only gains 17 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the M Performance Exhaust system eliminates 8.8 pounds of heft and gives the 435i ZHP a mean burble.

The result of this added power is a 0.2-scond drop in 0-to-60 time, taking it from 5 seconds to 4.8 seconds when compared to the standard 435i with the auto transmission. With the manual transmission, the 0-to-60 dance drops from 5.3 seconds to 5.1 seconds. Accelerating from 50 mph to 75 mph is 0.5 seconds faster in the 435i ZHP.

Rounding out the 435i ZHP is the M Sport Package, which includes the aforementioned aero kit on the outside, and the Aluminum Hexagon Trim and an M Sport steering wheel on the inside.

BMW will limit production of the 435i ZHP Coupe to only 100 units and buyers can order theirs starting in July 2015. Pricing details will arrive later.
