Leaked Presentation Shows Genesis’ Lineup Plans Through 2020

Hyundai is set to take it to the big boys of the luxury car world with the introduction of its new Genesis brand. Today, we get a look at just how deep this brand will be by way of a leaked powerpoint slide that The Korean Car Blog dug up. This slide shows us exactly what the newly formed automaker has in store between now and the end of the decade.

The slide shows the existing flagship G90 sedan plus five other vehicle sketches strewn between the years 2017 and 2020. Beneath each sketch is the segment that the model will compete in, and two of the sketches actually have names under them. The previously revealed G80 –the brand’s midsize luxury sedan that is essentially a redesigned version of the existing Hyundai Genesis—will launch before 2017 along with the 3 Series-rivalling G70 near-luxury sedan.

Between 2017 and 2020, the brand-new premium automaker will launch a midsize luxury SUV, while sometime around 2020, a near-luxury SUV and a near-luxury sports coupe, which will likely be a reworked Genesis coupe to challenge the 4 Series, will hit the market.

Other than the silhouettes and a few quick blurbs, the powerpoint slide reveals nothing else. Sadly, this means we’ll have to continue waiting to see these rigs in the metal, but the wait for the G70 shouldn’t be too long, given it’s supposed to arrive before next year.
