Jaguar E-Pace Kicks Off With a First Edition Model

Recently, Jaguar revealed, in full, the all-new E-Pace SUV. This small Jag will toss the leaping cat into the competitive segment in hopes of upping sales and funding more awesomeness, like the XE SV Project 8. When it debuts, there will be a one-year-only special edition available, which will carry the First Edition name.

The E-Pace First Edition will come based on the R-Design SE trim, giving it a sportier look right from the start. Unlike the true R-Design, the First Edition will lack the 296-horsepower version of the 2.0-liter engine. Instead, it will come with the lower-power, 246-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission.

The First Edition will have three color options available: the exclusive Caldera Red, Yulong White and Santorini Black. It will also feature gloss-black touches to set it off and a set of unique 20-inch satin grey, diamond-turned, split-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, buyers will enjoy an ebony soft-grain Windsor leather with red contrast stitching, an ebony suedecloth headliner, configurable ambient lighting, a fixed panoramic glass roof, the next-gen head-up display, extra charging points for devices, and rails in the cargo area.

Additional goodies on this special model include configurable dynamics, a gesture-controlled power liftgate, a Jaguar Activity Key, and unique floor mats and sill plates.

The 2018 E-Pace First Edition will be available in early 2018 at a starting price of $53,550, making it $450 more than the range-topping R-Dynamic HSE trim and $3,500 more than the R-Design SE trim it’s based on.
