Here’s The Audi A9 E-Tron Rendered
We know Audi is working on an A9 four-door coupe, which is supposed to hit showrooms in 2020. Part of the new lineup will be an E-Tron model, and it’s aimed right at the Tesla Model S. Thanks to TopSpeed, we have a speculative rendering to give us a good feel for what this future EV will look like.
This rendering draws heavily off the E-tron Quattro concept Audi drug out in 2015. That’s a good thing, because the E-tron Quattro looked incredible. The front fascia and roofline are heavily influenced by the concept, helping to give the four-door coupe a swoopy yet aggressive appearance.
You’ll notice some details make the A9 E-tron look even sportier than the E-tron Quattro. Bigger side intakes are included in the front bumper. A front splitter is designed for superior aerodynamics.
TopSpeed thinks the tail will look more like the new A8. Considering how fond Audi is of a universal design language across all models, that’s a safe bet.
As for the drivetrain and such, expect an evolved version of the E-tron Quattro’s. Some bits will be the same as on the Q6 E-tron.
Onboard luxury should eclipse what you can get on a Tesla. Audi’s been in the game longer and excels in this area. Expect rear legroom to be excellent, while headroom should be a little tighter, thanks to that swoopy roofline.
