Here Is The New Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain
If you just hate SUVs, but want something that supposedly can go off-roading, Mercedes-Benz has the vehicle for you. Sure, it costs way more than a Subaru, but you’ll look sophisticated getting stuck in the mud with an E-Class All-Terrain.
Probably nobody looking at an Outback will be cross-shopping this wagon. Instead, this niche vehicle has been created to steal market share from the Audi Allroad. In the US, this is a tiny portion of the market, but in Europe it’s bigger. Don’t expect the E-Class All-Terrain to be big on this side of the pond.
Still, this new wagon is great for water cooler talk. Among the upgrades for the All-Terrain is a suspension lift, raising ground clearance to 6.1 inches, and of course obligatory body cladding that never looks attractive. An off-road mode helps eliminate unnecessary wheel spin, but you still probably shouldn’t take this thing on any trails in Moab.
We do have the E-Class Wagon, so the All-Terrain could come to America, but so far no official announcement has been made.
