Get 700-Horsepower From Your 2018 Mustang and Keep the Warranty

Typically, strapping a supercharger to a new car renders the factory warranty about as useful as the paper it’s printed on. But Ford makes a big exception when it comes to Ford Performance parts, well, because it owns the performance-part company. And now, you can push your 2018 Mustang GT to a sweet new level of performance with the Ford Performance’s newest supercharger.

Ford Performance teamed up with the other legend in Ford tuning, Roush, to craft this new TVS blower. Dubbed the 2650 supercharger, this kit forces 12 pounds of boost into the combustion chamber when you use 93-octane fuel, which bumps the output to a mighty 700 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque.

In its standard tune, the 2018 Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V-8 cranks out 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. That means this blower pushes the needle by 240 horsepower and 190 pound-feet — that’s some serious power that even makes the nasty GT350 blush a bit.

Included with the supercharger kit is a lower intake manifold, and 87 mm throttle body, a new air-inlet system, an air-to-liquid intercooler, a six-rib drive system, and a cloud-based calibration system.

On top of all that, so long as you have this kit installed at an approved shop, you retain the Mustang’s factory warranty and the supercharger kit has a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty of its own.

Ford expects to have the 2650 supercharger in showrooms in early 2018. Pricing isn’t available just yet.
