Ford Throws Down Big With 2017 Fusion Sport
Forget getting some expensive German sport sedan. Things have changed, and now the Ford Fusion might be a great alternative to the BMW 340i and other Teutonic favorites.
Consider this: the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport comes with a fiery 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 that cranks out 325 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. Yes, that’s a lot of torque for just about any car, but from a Fusion this is something nobody was expecting.
The Ford Fusion’s supposed to be competing against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Kia Optima, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. But those kinds of numbers push beyond some much pricier alternatives, proving that you don’t always have to be loaded to have fun on the road. You’re going to fork out about $34,000 for a Ford Fusion Sport, making it an incredible deal.
Bimmer fanboys and other owners of European sport sedans will be obviously offended at their rides being compared to a Ford. Will the Fusion Sport handle as well? Probably not. But in a straight-line race, the Ford is an impressive competitor. Who knows, maybe with some aggressive tuning the car won’t be half-bad at getting around tracks?
