Finally, you can tune your Ford Focus RS without voiding the factory warranty, thanks to Ford Performance. Autoblog discovered before the official unveiling that a new calibration is coming for the hot hatch’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine.

Just how much of a performance uplift can we expect? That’s a good question, because Ford Performance won’t say. Already, the Focus RS pushes out 350 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, which is pretty amazing for such a small engine. Thanks in part to the advanced all-wheel-drive system, the car can scoot from 0 to 60 in under five seconds.

On the other side of the pond in the UK, there’s a performance kit for the Focus RS that tacks on an extra 25 horsepower and 30 lb.-ft. of torque. Some are speculating that we’re getting the same thing, just modified to satisfy emissions standards here.

We should have an official announcement in the next few months. It could be by the end of the year, but Ford Performance might choose to reveal it for the Detroit Auto Show, or maybe even right before it in January.
