The Ferrari FF was never the best-received of the prancing horses, but it scratched an itch for those who needed four-ish seats and more than 600 ponies to play with. Still, it was always just a little soft for most Ferrari buyers, and the folks in Italy took notice. Today, Ferrari has revaled the GTC4Lusso, the successor to the FF.

The first thing that stands out is just how improved the looks are moving from the FF to the GTC4Luso. No, the FF wasn’t ugly, per se, but it always seemed a little too “meh” to wear the Ferrari badge. The GTC4Lusso, while not a massive change from the FF, has all the updates needed to look far more aggressive than its predecessor. Things like the revised headlights, the new fender vents, the lower hood, the wider front intake, the more striking character lines, new dual-circle taillights, and the enhaced rear diffuser all take what the FF had and make it look the part of a true Fezza.

The changes when moving from the FF to the GTC4Lusso continue inside the cabin. In here, Ferrari went the opposite direction it took with the body as it seems to have tamed things a bit. The cabin is still pletny sporty, but the wild colors are no longer present and some of the angles are more rounded now. Of course, there are still plenty of premium materials surrounding all four occupants, while a new infotainment system with a 10.25-inch display lives in the center of the dash.

Powering this four-seat supercar is the same 6.3-liter V-12 that lives in the existing FF, but with the power turned up a bit to 680 horsepower and 514 pound-feet of twist. This gives the GTC4Lusso a healthy 29-horsepower and 10-pound-feet avantage over the model it replaces. This new powerplant amounts to a 0-to-62 mph time of just 3.4 seconds—0.3 seconds quicker than the FF—and a top speed of 208 mph.

Working this four-seat supercar like an artist in the corners is Ferrari’s 4RM Evo four-wheel-drive system paired for the first time with rear-wheel steering. A new Slip Side Control system that uses the Ferrari E-Diff comes with this grand tourer to assure great grip in the corners, while its SCM-E dampers adjust to varying road conditions and driving styles.

In terms of size, relative to the FF, the GTC4Lusso comes in 15 mm (0.6 inches) longer, 27 mm (1.1 inches) wider, 4 mm (0.15 inchs) taller, and weighs the same at 1,790 kg (3,946 pounds). Weight distribution is also identical at 47 percent on the front axle and 53 percent out back.

The GTC4Lusso will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, which kicks off on March 3rd, 2016. Ferrari should announce a rough release date for the new model during the show, so stay tuned for more.
