Dodge Durango Gains Appearance Packages
Dodge showed it has a great sense of humor in 2015 when it launched the Brass Monkey appearance package for the Charger and Challenger SRT. Now that package can be had for the 2016 Durango Limited, meaning you can take the kids to soccer practice in brash style. Perhaps the people at Dodge listened to the Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill a little too much, which is completely understandable and even respectable. That’s just how Dodge rolls.
Brass Monkey packs on the bling with a Gloss Black grille and badge, Burnished Bronze 20-inch aluminum wheels and a monochromatic exterior color scheme. It’s aggressive without trying too hard, skipping out on the kind of fussiness many Durango fans loathe. If you want to add the package so you can ride low and slow, it comes with a US MSRP of just $995.
The Durango Citadel gains an Anodized Platinum appearance package, which isn’t nearly as fun of a name, but it still looks nice. It’s a little bit subtler than Brass Monkey, with Satin Carbon 20-inch aluminum wheels. An upscale Platinum finish is applied to the grille, fog light bezels, side mirror caps, door handles, lower sills and badge.
With the Chrysler Aspen long out of the picture, this package hearkens back to that vibe of burly luxury. Even your mother will be impressed with the buttoned-up and proper look, effectively dressing the Durango up in a nice suit. Even though Anodized Platinum might be considered the softer of the two appearance packages, it doesn’t make the Durango look like a sissy by any stretch, so you don’t have to turn in your man card when ordering it.
Your factory customization journey doesn’t have to end with these two packages. Dodge is eager to point out that Radar Red Nappa leather seats and the BeatsAudio premium sound system with nine speakers can be added to the Durango in combination with either appearance package.
