Chevrolet Silverado WT Receives a Black Out Package
General Motors has been rolling out special packages for its new Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups at a fast pace since they were released in 2014. And now for the 2015, the base-level Silverado Work Truck is getting a package that will help spruce up the otherwise relatively stripped-down pickup.
This new Black Out Package will be available on all Silverado 1500 WT double-cab and regular-cab models. This package will add in 20-inch black-painted wheels shod in 275/55R20 tires, deep-tinted windows, and black bowtie emblems. Adding this optional package to the 2015 Silverado 1500 will run an extra $1,595, bringing the truck’s base price up to $28,895.
The Black Out Package is available for order now, and it only available in one exterior color: black.
Along with the added options that this package includes, the Silverado 1500 WT also comes standard with air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, vinyl seating, a rubber floor, a four-speaker audio system with AM/FM capabilities, and a USB connection. The standard engine is a 4.3-liter V-6 EcoTec3 that produces 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. For added power, buyers can opt for the 5.3-liter V-8 that cranks out 355 horses and 383 pound-feet of torque.
The Silverado WT comes standard with a six-speed auto transmission and rear-wheel drive, and it has optional four-wheel drive available. Though Chevy makes no mention of whether this package is available with four-wheel drive or not, the example image bears a “4X4” badge on the bed, so I can only assume it is available in both two- or four-wheel drive.
