Cadillac XT5 Caught Completely Uncovered

Just a few weeks ago, Cadillac announced the XT5, the replacement for the aging SRX, was not too far away from being debuted. We are now getting our first look at the upcoming crossover, thanks to the folks over at Opposite Lock.

These completely uncovered images were obviously shot during a photo shoot or a commercial shoot in the SoHo neighborhood of New York, giving us a great first look at the upcoming crossover. From these images, you can see that the new XT will continue with Caddy’s new body style, but this one seems a lot more symmetrical and natural than the new Escalade’s look.

The XT5’s body highlights the exaggerated headlights very well, thanks to creases that seem like continuations of the lights. Sure, the Escalade has similar creases for the headlights, but the boxy look of the XT5’s big brother just doesn’t quite fit the sleek headlights, in my opinion.

Additionally, the vertical taillights on the Escalade don’t match the headlights. The taillights on the XT5, however, curve toward the front of the crossover and the rear haunches seem to carry the design of the light about halfway up the side of the vehicle. This really pulls the design of the front and rear fascias together.

Unfortunately, there are no images of the engine, so that that remains unknown for now. I believe we’ll see Cadillac’s 3.6-liter V-6 make an appearance as the base engine, while the turbocharged 2.0-liter could be an optional engine for those looking for a little more fuel economy. Don’t be shocked to see Cadillac’s new 400-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 make the cut in the XT5 Vsport or XT5-V too.

The XT5 should make its debut soon, so stay tuned for more information.
