Blame Women for the Rise of Luxury SUVs

Bloomberg recently ran an interesting piece you can read here, all about how luxury automakers are “finally discovering the power of women buyers.” That’s an interesting premise, because the author makes a big leap in assuming that those companies ignored the fact that women influence car purchases more than men.

Anyway, one of the most interesting takeaways from the article isn’t that automakers are paying attention to female shoppers. It’s the assertion that women are driving the surge in luxury SUVs on the market.

Are you shocked? Some people might be chuckling and saying of course they are, while others could be spouting off accusations I’m sexist or something. I didn’t say it, Bloomberg did.
