13 Cars Getting a Full Redesign for 2015
6. Ford F-150
The F-150 is an icon in the pickup truck segment, so redesigning it requires a careful pen. The last thing Ford wants to go through with the 2015 F-150 are the shocking changes of 1997 that put off some loyal F-150 buyers. With that, Ford’s design team put together a truck that looks more utilitarian than its predecessor, but also features high-tech things like military-grade aluminum in the body to help it shed 700 pounds, and LED headlights and taillights.
Under its hood, the 2015 F-150 carries over the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 with 365 horses and 420 pound-feet of torque, and the 5.0-liter V-8 with 385 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of twist. New in the engine bay is the base, 3.5-liter V-6 with 283 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. Also new is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine with 325 horses and 375 pound-feet of torque.
