4. Volkswagen GTI – MSRP from $25,095
It should surprise no one to see the GTI on this list. The original hot hatch is still dishing up thrills these days, thanks to a spunky engine and an advanced transmission. It also doesn’t hurt that the GTI has more to offer than just speed. First off, the car is powered to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that kicks out 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. VW offers a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual (DSG). While the manual transmission is great fun, it helps the GTI go from 0 to 60 in about 6.9 seconds. With the DSG, the car does the 0 to 60 dash in just 6.4 seconds. While the acceleration is definitely respectable, the GTI really shines as a car you can comfortably drive to and from work every day. It is well-balanced on the road and has an interior that is comfortable and luxurious for the price.
